The Princess Theatre is the perfect venue for music events that complement the theatre including orchestral music, jazz, and folk. Groups that have performed at the theatre include The Whitlams, The Middle East and many, many more.
Capacity
The capacity of the Princess Theatre varies depending on the style that it is set up in. For music events, the styles available are:
- Mix of Theatre and Standing: 600 (including seated in balcony)
- Theatre (seated) style: 400 (including balcony) or 280 (excluding balcony). Note that this would require the hiring of 160 chairs. Without hiring chairs, the maximum seated capacity is 240.
All ages
All public events at the Princess Theatre are all ages events. Everyone is welcome, and everyone can feel safe at the venue.
But there are some things which are not welcome
In order to provide a safe venue for all ages, there are a number of rules which are strictly enforced:
- Alcohol, Drugs and Smoking, in or around the Princess Theatre, is banned
- Intoxicated persons will not be allowed entry
- Thongs and Steel Capped Boots are banned
- Dangerous behaviour including Crowd Surfing, Stage Diving, Moshing and Violent Dancing is not allowed and will result in the offendor's immediate removal from this venue.
Styles of music
Quieter styles of music are welcome at the Princess Theatre.
